Moving a floating license server

Note: the following information only applies to GeoCat Bridge for ArcMap v3.1.19 and older.

When you are running a Floating Licenser for Bridge and you want to change the hardware or move to another data center, and the settings stay the same, the Floating Licenser should keep on working.

However, when errors occur, the server has to be registered again. The following steps are needed:

  • send the `request.bin` file to GeoCat support (preferably in a password protected zip file)
  • GeoCat will remove the old registration and provide you with the `response.bin` file
  • load the `response.bin` on the server

Documentation about the Floating License server can be downloaded here: https://my.geocat.net/dl.php?type=d&id=36

When you are planning a migration please contact GeoCat support (support@geocat.net).
