Overview

GeoNetwork Enterprise is an outstanding catalog application providing record publishing and search capabilities to share information. Built to support international open standards GeoNetwork offers metadata editing and management with a focus on geospatial content.

GeoNetwork Enterprise 2023.3 is a recommended upgrade for all our customers and compatible with GeoCat Bridge for both ArcGIS Desktop and QGIS Desktop.

GeoNetwork Enterprise Plugin repository

GeoNetwork Enterprise is provided as a base package which can be extended with plugins. Plugins have an independent lifecycle. Each plugin advertises its compatibility with relevant GeoNetwork versions.

GeoNetwork Technology

GeoNetwork Enterprise 2023.3 is based on GeoNetwork opensource 4.2.11 release. This version of GeoNetwork has switched the search engine to use ElasticSearch instead of Lucene, as in previous versions.

This section describes the main changes in this new version.

User interface

Add layer from metadata / Remove the dialog to zoom to the layer when switching from the map viewer to another page.
Add the image name in the alt attribute in the thumbnail on the metadata page.
Fixed a problem with reCAPTCHA widget not shown sometimes when it takes longer time to load.
Fixed infinite "Please wait" message if an error happens while using delete, validate or other option of the editor dashboard metadata actions menu.
Improve tooltips for search filter items:
For keyword items, display the definition if available.
For other items, display the translation instead of the key.
Metadata delete / Fix message when an error occurs.
Metadata page / Display WMS resources button label to open the link when the map viewer is not enabled.
Metadata page / Don't display the add to map button for WFS resources when the map viewer is disabled.
Metadata page / Hide the history types selector in the metadata history widget when tasks (DOI) and workflow are disabled.
Search results / Don't capitalize the labels for the filter values.

Minimal UI view

Home page / Fix topic categories display when using the fluid layout. The fix displays an ellipsis if the text doesn't fit.
Login page / Position the login buttonbar at the top of the page.
Map viewer / Open the dropdown menu in the Add Layer panel to the left.
Search map / Fix to refresh the map content when loading the page.
Search page / Add more space between edit button in the footer of each result in the list items layout.
Use the new GeoCat Find logo.

Dutch UI view

Added missing translations in the advanced search dialog for date filter.
Hide the search suggestions when hitting the ENTER key in the search field without selecting a suggested value.
Metadata editor styling improvements for color and indenting.
Metadata page / Display the lineage texts on more lines whenever a linebreak is detected.
Search page / Fixed the All values except popover overlap in the search filter list on small screens.
