Can Bridge run on a virtual machine?

The Bridge licenser (Bridge for ArcMap v3.1.19 and older) uses the hardware ID of the machine it runs on. In some virtualization scenarios this may cause problems with the license validation process.

The latest versions of Bridge (Bridge for ArcMap v3.2+ and Bridge for QGIS v4.1+) should have less issues with virtual environments, although some problems may still arise when activating Bridge using a license file (offline/disconnected). The latest Bridge versions use a machine or domain name and a unique code to tie a license to a machine. If the domain or machine name changes and you are using a license file, this may mean that you need to reactivate Bridge.
